Mr. Parminder (Pindy) Gill

My name is Parminder Gill and I will be the upcoming K-3 teacher at Hillview Elementary. I have spent last year in Fort Chipewyan Alberta, and prior to that, I was a graduate from the University of Alberta’s BEd program April 2021. 

As a teacher with an extensive Language Arts and Social Studies background I am excited to engage students with exciting new literature. Further, I hope to add variety of the classroom which includes a calming corner, reading corner and a morning corner. This way students do not feel stuck in the desk all day. I also hope to incorporate movement breaks to help students focus. My focus will be literacy and numeracy this year, and I hope to have a positive impact on the students of Hillview School. 

In addition to my classroom work, I will also be facilitating the physical education program from K-6. I have experience teaching physical education, and have played and coached competitive sports my whole life. I hope to allow students to experience a variety of sports, so they may find one that appeals to them and can focus on honing in skills associated with said sport.
